Visions of Love

Spring is here and excitement is in the air at the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.

We are announcing our new CEO. We are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Army of Women. And this Sunday, April 28th, we will Walk with Love.

Announcing Our New CEO

After an extensive nationwide search, it is our pleasure to announce that Christopher Clinton Conway will be the new Chief Executive Officer of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation.  Christopher brings more than 20 years of experience strengthening nonprofits, including significant experience leading organizations that focus on healthcare, research, and patient advocacy. He is an enthusiastic, bold thinker, a results driven innovator, and an accomplished fundraiser. In short: He is the right leader at the right time to take the Foundation to the next level of success. I am very excited to have him on board and look forward to working with him to achieve our vision: learning what causes breast cancer and how to prevent it.

The AOW Turns 10

Christopher arrived right in time to join us in honoring the 10th anniversary of the Army of Women!  We started this program to encourage more researchers to study breast cancer in women (and men), in addition to rats and mice. The process is simple: Researchers share with us information about studies they are working on that need volunteers and, if it’s a good fit, we eblast information about the study to everyone who is part of our Army. And the results have been significant: Our signature program now has 383,000+ members and has recruited for 135+ studies.

It is always important to point out that the Army of Women has a loyal platoon of men who take part in these studies. Men also get breast cancer and we need them to be part of the research that will help us learn more about what causes breast cancer (Are there different causes in men?) and how to prevent it.

Walk With Love

We are all in training for the 11th Walk with Love, which will take place on Sunday, April 28, in the Pacific Palisades in Southern California. This is  our signature fundraiser – and it’s not too late to sign up.  Create your own team, come with your family and friends, walk alone, or join my team  and literally walk with Love!  Don’t live in SoCal? Join us virtually! The money we raise allows us to do the important research that will help us to understand the human breast and why it develops breast cancer. Once we know the “why” we can learn how to prevent breast cancer once and for all. Walk with us as we take the steps that will help us reach this goal!
